Kent’s Wards Children’s Awards for 2025 extends closing date for nominations to Friday, May 16
The deadline for entries to this year’s Wards Children’s Awards has been extended - but be quick as it’s only for a few more days.
The annual event recognises Kent’s bravest and most courageous children, alongside the adults and charities which support them, and culminates with a glitzy gala lunch every year.
And now the opportunity to secure a spot at the party - and one of the six awards up for grabs - has been extended until Friday, May 16. Categories open for nominations this year include brave and courageous child of the year, young volunteer or fundraiser and young hero of the year.
There will also be recognition for the county’s most outstanding charity, a courageous family and an exceptional young carer.
Judges welcome nominations from friends, family, neighbours, school teachers, sports leaders or charities - so if you know of a deserving person or organisation that deserves to have the spotlight shone on their efforts then please let us know as soon as possible.
Nominating someone is straightforward and can be done online in a matter of minutes by clicking here.
This year’s much-anticipated gala lunch has an enchanted theme and will be led by Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins and children’s television favourite Mister Maker - also known as Phil Gallagher.
He said: “I’m very proud to be helping out again at the Wards Children’s Awards - these awards are incredible.
“They help to celebrate Kent’s courageous young people who have triumphed through so much and they also celebrate the wonderful people and charities that have helped along the way.
“If you think there is a wonderful, courageous young person out there that deserves to be recognised, or maybe a family member or a friend or an incredible charity, make sure you vote.”
