Tennis lessons for kids in Kent with Meopham Lawn Tennis Club open day

Try tennis for free.

That's the offer from a Kent tennis club which is offering both children and adults, inspired by events at the All England Club, the chance to pick up a racquet and try-out the sport.

Meopham Lawn Tennis Club is hosting an open day on Sunday (July 7).

The event is taking place on the middle Sunday of Wimbledon's fortnight in the hope of encouraging those who have been gripped by the action to come along.

The tennis club's coaches will be on hand for those trying the sport for the first time. But it is also welcoming seasoned players who might like to come along and find out more about the club and what it could offer them and their families.

The club currently has around 100 adult members and a further 100 junior players.

Running from 10am until 1pm, the club says all ages will be catered for at the open day from tiny tots to players of 80 and 90 years-of-age!

There's no need to book to attend and no equipment is required - everything will be provided by the club. People keen to take part must just bring trainers.

Two teenagers from Kent will be competing in the Wimbledon juniors event. 18-year-old Anton Matusevich and 16-year-old Emma Raducanu have are favourites to win follow some of the greatest talents to come out of the county. Watch the video here:
