The school – which is part of the Leigh Academies Trust – opened in September 2016 and teaches approximately 446 children from ages three to 11.

Evidence gathered during the inspection suggests it has “improved significantly across all areas”.

The report praised the student’s attitude, as well as their awareness of different cultures and backgrounds.

“Pupils’ behaviour is calm in the classroom and around the school building,” it went on to say.

“Pupils are astute and attend to their learning with enthusiasm.”

Its curriculum, which is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), was described as “well-constructed and carefully mapped out”.

The report highlighted that teachers used the training and advice from the trust “effectively” to build subject expertise.

The academy’s provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) was also recognised.

"They access the same curriculum as their peers or an appropriate curriculum for their needs," the inspectors added.

"Staff work in partnership with other professionals and SEND experts across the trust to put in place appropriate support."

In June 2019, the school had its first inspection and was graded “good” overall.

The recent inspection took place between Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday 2, and the results have now been published.

Ungraded inspections are carried out to make sure that a school is maintaining the standards it was previously judged to have achieved.

They typically focus on a few key areas and do not include in-depth subject reviews.

A graded inspection then takes place within one or two years of the date of the ungraded one.

The trust says it was a “highly positive outcome” and expects to get an “outstanding” rating in the next inspection.

Principal Sally Brading said: “This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our pupils and the unwavering support from our families.

“We are committed to providing a high-quality education where every child feels valued, safe and ambitious for their future.”

Simon Beamish, CEO of Leigh Academies Trust, added: “The inspection team has rightly recognised the exceptional work taking place at Leigh Academy Langley Park.

“Sally and her team have built an inclusive and aspirational environment that prepares every pupil to succeed.

“I am confident that the next inspection will confirm what we already know – that this is an outstanding academy in every sense.”
