Teletubbies is back on Cbeebies - but do shows like it help a child's development?

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po first burst onto our screens 19 years ago and rapidly became a worldwide phenomenon.

The fab four are now back on Cbeebies and child development expert Dr Jaqueline Harding has been looking at the impact the show has had and why parents should embrace children's television as a development tool.

Having studied children's programes for almost 20 years, Dr Harding believes that watching high quality programmes with children can be a great provider of information and help them develop in surprising ways.
