Where to go for a milkshake in Kent after McDonald's hit by shake supply chain problems

With milkshakes off the menu at some branches of fastfood giant McDonald's, fans could be at a loss for where to get their fix of the sugary sweet treat.

So here are some alternative options for places to go in Kent for top-notch shakes this summer.

This ice cream shop in Central Parade is no novice when it comes to milkshakes.

Its range of more than 28 flavours is made from mouth-watering home-made Italian gelato.

Scoops

A family-run ice cream parlour, also in Central Parade, with plenty of shakes on the menu.

It was recently forced to shut due to flooding at the weekend but is very much back up and running.

Customers get 'All Shook Up' about the Hot Rod Diner in the high street where the Elvis is among its Hot Rod signature shakes.

In case anyone wants to know, it's made from peanut butter and bananas. Others include the Blue Moon (Oreo and bubblegum) and the Marathon (chocolate, peanut butter and salted caramel)

Found next to Boots, Coffee Corner at Westwood Cross shopping centre does not just fulfil your hot drink desires.

Its milkshakes have previously included a Crunchie bar flavour and peanut butter and Nutella.

"What an absolute little gem this place is," said one reviewer. "Me and my wife both had a milkshake which was gorgeous."

Based in the Mall shopping centre, Blendini sells a range of milkshakes, smoothies and hot drinks.

Choose a flavour from its 'bubble wall' and mix in your favourite chocolate bar.

Nestled in County Square Shopping Centre, this bar has been bashing out shakes for a number of years.

Starburger

As well as being the go-to place for a burger for its loyal fans, they can also be washed down with a shake. Deal, Maidstone and Gravesend are among the towns in Kent with a branch.

Wimpy

There's no messing about at Wimpy, which sticks with the traditional vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and banana thick shakes.

Find one in Ashford, Dartford, Sittingbourne, Strood, Chatham and Maidstone.

Creams

The dessert chain specialist, there are several dotted around Kent, including Maidstone, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells.
