Want to treat your mum this Mother's Day? From Kentish gifts to days out and afternoon tea, we've rounded up some of the best on offer

Bodiam Castle

Take your mum for a special afternoon high tea at the castle on Sunday, March 6 between 12.30pm and 2.30pm. The price of £25 per adult includes a small gift and free entry to the castle and grounds for mum. Child entry is £12.50 for six to 12 year-olds. Booking is essential on 01580 831324.

Chartwell, near Sevenoaks

Take her for a Mother’s Day weekend afternoon tea on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, between 3.30pm and 5pm. Have a special afternoon tea in the Mulberry Room; choose from a traditional tea or pink sparkling afternoon tea for an extra special surprise. It costs £13.95 per adult and £8.95 per child. The pink sparking afternoon tea is £19.95 per adult. Booking is essential, call 01732 861161.

Chiddingstone Castle

Look out from the White Rose Drawing Room at rolling Kentish countryside as you enjoy a cream tea for Mother’s Day. The traditional treat is on offer at Chiddingstone Castle near Edenbridge on Sunday, March 6 at 1pm or 4pm. Each person will be served freshly-made scones, with Cornish clotted cream and jam and a selection of sandwiches and homemade cakes.
You need to pre-book and it costs £18 per person, £9 for children aged six and under. The castle itself opens to visitors again on Friday, March 25. To book call 01892 872746 email @chiddingstonecastle.org.uk.

Dreamland, Margate

Have a Mother’s Day afternoon tea treat at Dreamland on the day itself. The venue is hosting two sittings on Sunday, March 6 in the 1920s ballroom at noon and 3pm for £14.95 per person. To book and for more info click here.

Hempstead Valley, Gillingham

Spoil mum by getting her the perfect gift. Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre is holding a Mother’s Day gift fayre from Monday, February 29 to Sunday, March 6. Specialist stalls will have locally produced, handmade crafts and quality gifts between 9am and 8pm Monday to Friday, Saturday between 9am and 7pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Reserve

If you love your mum, and love a bargain, get along to these two top Kent attractions on Sunday, March 6. Both award-winning parks are offering free entry to all mums on Mother's Day. The offer is only valid for day tickets bought at the Gatehouse this Sunday and cannot be used in conjunction with any other concessions. At Port Lympne, near Hythe, enjoy an authentic African safari experience in 600 acres of Kent countryside. Over at Howletts, near Canterbury, you can sneak a peek at the park's new baby rhino and his mum Damara, or see if you can spot the adorable baby langur called Francois. Ightham Mote

Children can make mum feel special by giving her a handmade flower, or treat her to a lovely lunch or cream tea in the Mote Cafe on Sunday, March 6 between 11am and 3pm. Mums can also have some extra pampering with a free hand massage in the shop. Normal admission charges apply, and there is a suggested donation of 50p per flower. Leeds Castle

Take your mum for a treat at the Castle View Restaurant on Saturday, March 5 or Sunday, March 6. There’s an exclusive menu, with a choice of starters and desserts and a roast for main course, carved at your table, before enjoying a stroll in the picturesque grounds. Penshurst Place

Get crafty and make something together with a natural dye making workshop or crafts and cards on Sunday, March 6 between noon and 4pm.
