Tall Stories' fun-filled adaptation of Room on the Broom flies into the EM Forster Theatre this weekend. Jump on board the broom with the witch and her cat in this production based on the best-selling picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Orienteering, Betteshanger Park near Deal

Embark on a special adventure through the park on one of Betteshanger's four orienteering courses. Orienteering is a self-led activity and open to all ages, although prior knowledge of orienteering or map reading is an advantage. Orienteering can be done individually, in pairs, as a family and it also works brilliantly for a group activity. Special orienteering maps are available from Bike Hire.

Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats, Boughton Monchelsea

Buttercups welcomes visitors every weekend during the winter months, unless forced to close because of bad weather. Families can visit the goats every Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 3pm at the site in Wierton Road. Visit is by donation, refreshments are available and goat food is also available to purchase. The East Kent Chinese Community Group will celebrate new year in Canterbury with music, dancing and food on Sunday, February 2.

The event, which start at midday at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, is open to all and will mark the Year of the Rat.

It will feature the spectacular Lion Dance, the colourful Yin Tao dancing group, a Chinese face changing act, the K-Pop dance group from the University of Kent and Chinese music, singing and food.
