Medieval camps, art and craft in the country park, a big show at Headcorn Aerodrome and the first Wipeout Arena obstacle course arrives in Kent.

Art in the Park, Sittingbourne

The annual creative event is back and set to be bigger than ever before. Alongside numerous free arts and crafts workshops for children will be a hog roast, live bands, refreshments, local produce and local artists displaying and selling their work. The event takes place at Milton Creek Country Park from 11am until 4pm.

Summer fair, ellenor, Northfleet

Bring the family along to ellenor's hospice in Coldharbour Road for a fun-filled event full of live music, entertainment, stalls, games and more.

The annual summer fair which is a massive event in the charity's calendar will include more than 30 stalls selling a variety of goods and treats, live musical performances from the ellenor choir, ukulele band Ukulear Subs as well as shows from the Marlow Singers and Reynolds Academy. The event takes place between 11am and 3pm and admission is £2 per person. More details here.

Tankerton Circus Fair, Tankerton

A great family day out is promised at the fair in on Saturday.

The circus themed event will include stalls, rides, games, live music and refreshments. There will also be performances from local groups to entertain visitors and you can brush up on your circus skills with some lessons. The event begins at 11am.

Medieval Meriment, Rochester

Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11

Experience the sights, sounds and smells of live in medieval times at this spectacular living history weekend at Rochester Castle. Walk around the Medieval Siege Society living history camp, and watch in awe as the Trebuchet Siege engine is fired. There will also be men-at-arms, archery and falconry displays, a jester, have-a-go archery, stalls, refreshments and children’s crafts.

Entry to the castle gardens is free but normal admission applies to the Keep.

Combined Ops and Military Air Show, Headcorn

This unique event held at Headcorn Aerodrome will include a variety of vintage and modern aircraft displays, both on the ground and in the air. The family event will also include static military vehicles, living history re-enactment groups, arena events, stalls, children's entertainment and food stalls. Wizard of Oz, Groombridge Place

Running until Sunday, August 11

You only have until Sunday to catch this summer's wonderful live performances of Wizard of Oz at Groombridge Place.

Three shows every day are taking place in the new outdoor forest theatre. The West End cast will entertain visitors with singing and dancing as well as cast walkabouts and the chance to take photos with the famous characters.

Performance times are 11.30am, 1.15pm and 2.25pm and admission to Groombridge includes the Wizard of Oz performances. Daily birds of prey displays, the walled gardens and all the attractions in the Enchanted Forest from the thrilling ‘Tree Top Walkway’ to the giant tree and family nest swings, the Board Walk with Zip Wire, rope swings and bridges and Crusoe’s World adventure area with rope bridges, walkways anda new wooden ship are among all the other attractions you could visit during your day.
