Kent has an action packed weekend in store with festivals, carnivals, a steam rally and clashing Romans!

The first weekend of August is full of family events that are sure to be appeal to children - and adults - of all ages!

Craig David is the headliner at this year's Neverworld festival. But the event has a raft of things to do for families both looking to camp and come into the event on a day ticket. Set in glorious surroundings, the event is a big hit with festival goers.

Kent VW Festival, Dover

Friday, August 2 until Monday, August 4

Three days of entertainment is being lined up for this year's VW festival in Coldred near Dover. Toploader are among the headline acts but there is plenty more to see and do over the three days. Visitors have the choice between weekend camping tickets or day tickets. There will be entertainment, arts and crafts for the kids, a family quiz, and even an 'old school' disco! Weald of Kent Steam Rally, Woodchurch

Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4

More than 135 engines will roll into Little Engeham Farm this weekend for the annual weekend rally.

More than 50 full size engines will take part in arena events and a working area, there will be a Victorian fair complete with carousel and side shows, over 70 scale steam engines, a ride on railway, classic cars, farming and military vehicles and stalls to keep everyone entertained.
And when you're ready to sit back and rest - refreshment stalls will keep the entire family fed and watered!

Whitstable Harbour Day and Whitstable Carnival

Thousands of families are expected to descend on the popular seaside town this weekend for its annual Harbour Day, which is then swiftly followed by the town's carnival. During the day will be visiting boats, displays, stands and refreshments. The Carnival then begins at 5pm in Tankerton before winding its way into Whitstable.

Family favourite Peter Rabbit is hopping into Kent's heritage farm park on Saturday to meet families and young fans. He'll be appearing at intervals throughout the day from 10.30am until 5.30pm.

Whilst there, you can also visit Forest School and create a bow and arrow or braided hair rope, have a go at making a scarecrow or take part in a special rabbit hunt in Mr McGregor's garden.
Plus all the usual Kent Life attractions will be open including cuddle corner, indoor and outdoor play areas, farm rides and the bouncy castle. And don't miss the Animal Show in the Big Top! All the ticket information you need can be found here.

Models and Miniatures Weekend, Dover Transport Museum

Model boats on the water, model trucks, tanks, model railways and dolls houses will be among all of the items on display at Dover Transport Museum's special event weekend. The museum, its grounds and cafe will be packed full of things to see and do. There will also be a ride-on railway, barbecue and open top bus rides on Sunday (August 4).

Watch the Roman Empire’s finest soldiers compete in an intense show of strength and skill as two teams throw spears, take aim on the archery field and clash with swords and shields!

Don't miss the world famous Ermine Street Guard who will be displaying weapons, tactics and equipment of the Roman army of the first Century AD, explore the living history camp and meet the Romans to find out more about life in the empire.

Herne Bay's festival continues this weekend with more fantastic events for all the family across the town. Activities to enjoy this weekend include entertainment with Pip the Clown and Punch and Judy on the pier, live theatre and music and stalls and games for Cancer Awareness Day.
