The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne unveils popular Santa Saturdays

Santa Saturdays are returning to a Kent shopping centre for another year.

Following the success of last year's event The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne is bringing back its weekend festive programme of entertainment and activities.

Face painters, arts and crafts sessions, and of course special visits from Santa and his elves will all feature in the line-up.

The fun starts this Saturday, November 25 when Santa will make a special appearance until 4pm. The Christmas Grinch from Whoville will also be visiting the centre throughout the day and youngsters tasked with cheering up Mr Grinch will receive a sweet treat if they succeed!

There will also be a free festive arts and crafts table for little shoppers to create card and gifts for friends and family.

But the centre is also on the lookout for choirs and singing groups that would be interested in coming to The Forum to sing and raise money for a charity of their choice.

The festive activities will continue every Saturday from December 2 until December 23 between 11am and 4pm.

Monica Rana, centre manager, said: “Our ‘Santa Saturdays’ were a real hit last year, hence we are bringing them back for 2017. They provide a wonderful opportunity for local families to meet Santa free of charge and help keep our little shoppers entertained.

"We are delighted to be able to offer local choirs a platform to showcase their talents during the Christmas period. It’s a great way for shoppers to find out more about local entertainment in the town and will certainly add to the festive atmosphere during our Santa Saturdays programme.”

Anyone keen to nominte their singing group should email Monica Rana at Monica.rana@cwss.co.uk
