Uber Boat by Thames Clippers re-launch special summer sailings from Gravesend to London
A river cruise is once again re-launching its special sailings from Kent to London this summer.
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers will be resuming its services from Gravesend Town Pier to the capital on Sunday, June 1.
Departing from Gravesend, the boats will then cross the River Thames to Tilbury, in Essex, before heading to North Greenwich Pier and London Bridge City Pier.
The one-hour service offers views of the river, taking in iconic sights and landmarks including the Thames Barrier, the O2, Canary Wharf and sails underneath Tower Bridge.
The special sailings start from June 1 with additional sailings on June 22, July 12 and 20, August 8 and 20 and September 21.
It will leave Gravesend Town Pier at 9.45am and arrive in North Greenwich by 10.40am and London Bridge at 11am.
The boats will then depart from London Bridge at 5.15pm and North Greenwich at 5.35pm, with passengers arriving back at Gravesend by 6.25pm.
Return adult tickets are £25.70 and £12.85 for children aged five to 15. You can book yours here.
All-day tickets are also available, allowing unlimited use of Uber Boat services for the day, including the return ticket to Gravesend.
The special sailings return ahead of plans to establish a full commuter and leisure service in the next few years.
Private river bus company Thames Clippers bought Gravesend Town Pier and Pontoon from Gravesham council in November 2022 to create a high-speed river link to London.
The local authority decided to sell the asset, as running costs continued to increase, so it could redirect funding into essential services for the borough’s residents.
The pier is Grade II listed and is the oldest remaining cast iron pier of its kind in the world.
