Get up close with Santa Tyland Barn

Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18

Get closer to nature – and Santa – with the Kent Wildlife Trust. You can meet Father Christmas and his elves in his woodland grotto at Tyland Barn Visitor Centre in Sandling, near Maidstone, on Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18. Families can also follow clues on the Christmas trail then warm up in the cafe with festive food afterwards. A visit to Santa costs £8 per child, including a gift.

The Christmas Experience Bewl Water

Saturday, December 17 plus Friday, December 23 and Christmas Eve

Meet Santa and the elves at the tourist attraction, near Lamberhurst, where every child receives a gift. Grotto tickets are £8 for children, and £3 for adults and slots are available between 10am and 4pm. Also on offer is a chance to travel aboard the Santa Express and cruise on the Bewl Belle as you follow the treasure hunting route - available on December 17, 18, 23 and 24.

Head to Groombridge Place for a fun festive family day. Kids can join the hunt to find Jack Frost, write a letter to Santa, help out at the Elves' Craft Workshop and decorate gingerbread to take home. You can also pre-book to take the kids to meet Santa in his grotto.

Santa Saturdays - Save a life event Forum Shopping Centre, Sittingbourne

Saturday, December 17

Santa will make an appearance at the shopping centre this weekend before returning to the North Pole for the busiest time of the year. The same day, St John's Ambulance will be holding its Save a Life event from 11am until 3pm. it will feature a series of short workshops, and for the first 50 visitors there will be a free first aid kit filled with essentials.

For a fun, interesting day before the madness of Christmas, take the kids around the Rupert Bear trail at the Stour Street museum for just £1 per child. A Christmas Carol The Astor Theatre, Deal

See A Christmas Carol on stage at the Deal theatre at just £12 a ticket. Recreated and brought the stage by European Arts Company, the show is in support of children's charity Barnardos.
