We're inching closer to Spring so why not put a spring in your step at the start of March with some of these fun weekend events.

Whether your children are teeny or near-teens there is something for everyone in Kent this weekend.

Featuring a West End cast of eight actor-musicians and puppetry, children's favourite tale Babe is brought to life on stage. Full of laughter, live music and fun, it's great for children aged five and above. The show runs for an hour and 40 minutes with an interval.

World Book Day weekend Ightham Mote
Saturday, March 4 and Sunday March 5

To celebrate World Book Day head to Ightham Mote to discover the story of the gingerbread man as he leads you around the garden trail.

After, there's a chance for the little ones to decorate their own gingerbread man to take home.

Sunday, March 5 from noon until 2pm

Crafts for the children, competitions and free mini music sessions from Moo Music Maidstone will all be part of the next Cheeky Monkeys market.

Mums and dads will be able to buy quality used babies' and children's toys, clothes and equipment at the event which is taking place at Invicta Grammar School in Huntsman Lane.

Dinosaur Forest, Port Lympne Animal Reserve, open daily

An 18 metre long Spinosaurus is the latest prehistoric creature to arrive in Dinosaur Forest.

Weighing 20 tonnes the dinosaur had to be lifted into place using a crane having been too large for the reserve's biggest trailer.
