A fantastic new play area has opened at a Kent attraction just in time for the school holidays.

Acorn Dell can be found at Hever Castle.

The new natural play area is aimed at children aged seven and under.

Features include a two metre high living willow structure, giant sandpit, tunnels and a climbing frame.

There is also a clatter bridge, slide for a quick escape and two lookout platforms.

A whopping 42 boulders of various sizes are also being dotted around the play area for children to climb and sit on or to use as giant stepping stones.

The play area was officially opened on Thursday, July 12 by Cbeebies Down on the Farm presenter and former JLS star JB Gill.

He said: “I have extremely fond memories of visiting Hever Castle as a child and having a lot of fun with my family during the summer holidays.

"I know that my own children will have great fun playing here and I hope that it will inspire fun for every child and every family that has an opportunity to play here in the future.”

The new play area, which will compliment the current under fives play area with its swings, sliges and climbing frame, has been designed to blend in with the neighbouring and interactive Tudor Towers play area, which opened for older children last year.

For parents there is a new seating area of curved oak benches that have been topped with castellations - the first line of defence! And everyone will be well catered for with a new and dedicated refreshment area.
