If you're concerned about how best to keep the family amused over the next week, then fear not.

We've rounded up some of the best events Kent has to offer between now and next weekend:

Hornby Visitor Centre

Kick off the half-term holidays with a visit to the Toy and Collectors Fair at Hornby Visitor Centre.

Arriva Fun Day

Transport fanatics will love the free family fun day taking place at the new Arriva Tunbridge Wells bus depot this Sunday (May 27) from 11am until 3pm. There will be music, refreshments, fairground games - not to mention the chance to climb aboard a selection of buses from the classic vintage through to modern day vehicles. The new depot is at Kingstanding Way but shuttle buses are running from Tunbridge Wells train station and the Toys R Us car park on the North Farm Industrial Estate between 10.30am and 4pm at 20 minute intervals.

Kent Life

Could you plant a beanstalk or build houses fit for three little pigs? These farmyard themed activities with a fairy tale twist will be on offer to families visiting Kent Life between Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, June 3. Learn more here.

The National Trust

From trails to arts and crafts there is plenty happening at Kent's National Trust properties.

Groombridge Place

Immerse your family in a world of magical fairy tales at Groombridge Place. Learn more about the poor woodcutter who lived in a tiny cottage in the enchanted forest with his children Hansel and Gretel, join in with craft activities and sing-a-long songs and watch magic shows and daring fire tricks. Howletts

Animals of the Ice Age are roaming the woodland at Howletts Wild Animal Park. Wonder at the mighty mammoth, stare at the savage sabre toothed Smilodon and delight at the sheer size of the giant sloth in this latest outdoor exhibiti. What's more - spot a roaming woolly rhinoceros in the county and you could be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to Howletts. Find out what to do here.

Theatre

What The Ladybird Heard is promising farmyard fun for all the family when this stage adaptation of a Julia Donaldson classic takes to the stage. Tickets are still available for performances taking place on May 26 and May 27. All the details here.

Leeds Castle

Knights and horses are returning for the Grand Medieval Joust at Leeds Castle this weekend. There will be mightly clashes and thrilling fun for all ages at the event which is running from Saturday, May 26 to Monday, May 28.

Dover Castle

An action packed bank holiday weekend is being promised at Dover Castle with the return of it's popular Second World War event. Visitors will be transported back to the 1940s to learn more about the battles, soldier encampments, the fashion and rations of the time. All the details here.
