Charivari, Folkestone

Saturday, July 8

It’s carnival time if you’re in Folkestone this weekend.

The 21st Folkestone Charivari Festival will parade through the town on Saturday.

The lively and colourful day starts from 2pm at The Stade, and heads up the Old High Street, through the town centre and joins The Leas at West Terrace, where it makes its way to the bandstand.

It has teamed up with the upcoming Folkestone Triennial, which will come to the town from Saturday, September 2, which has the theme of Double Edge.

Every Charivari Day has a different theme for its designs and costumes, and this year’s, also Double Edge, will inspire people to create hybrid costumes bringing together two different objects to create something new.
