The Hornby Visitor Centre Toy Fair 2018

by Lauren Abbott

Model railway and Scalextric maker Hornby is taking a trip down memory lane this weekend with a Toy Collector's Fair in Kent.

The event - the second for the company - is being held at its visitor centre in Thanet.

The world of Hornby Hobbies is on display all year round at its base in Westwood Industrial Estate, Margate.

Featuring rare products from the Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi archives, visitors to the centre can track the history of Hornby’s iconic model trains beginning with the early homemade toys made from sheet metal.

There are spectacular model railway and Scalextric layouts while the latest products are also available to buy in the Hornby shop.

This Saturday's Toy Fair (May 26) is from 10am until 2pm.

A range of toys and curiosities from across the ages will be on sale and on display and entry to the event is £2 a person.
Alternatively families looking to coincide their visit to the Toy Fair with a trip around the visitor centre, which is open 10am until 4pm, can purchase a ticket to both for £6.50 an adult and £4 for children and concessions.

Under fives are free and a family ticket to both the toy fair and visitor centre costs £14 for two adults and up to four children.
