A party will kick start a long bank holiday weekend of festivities to mark the reopening of the iconic theme park.

Free to enter, Dreamland will officially open its doors at 5pm on Friday, unveiling its makeover for the first time.

The evening will be a chance to check out the park’s new design, which complements the meticulously renovated vintage rides, all with a beach backdrop.

The world's largest inflatable obstacle course is a must see this half term.

The 272m Beast is at the park from Friday, May 26 to Bank Holiday Monday, but there are now only tickets left for a late night party night on Thursday, May 25. Click here to book.

Explore the gardens of what used to be the home of former prime minister Sir Winston Churchill. The gardens and woodland will be open from Saturday, May 27 to Sunday, June 4, between 10am and 4pm and entry is £1.

Visitors to the shopping centre are going to be invited to walk in the path of their favourite pirates in an activity which will see them search for buried treasure.

Activities take place between 11am and 4pm, to mark the launch of the new Pirates of the Caribbean film. For more info click here.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge

In cinemas countywide from Friday

Shiver me timbers it is finally here! The latest in the Pirates of the Caribbean series sails into cinemas this weekend.

The film sees a crew of deadly ghost sailors, led by Captain Salazar, hunt down Jack Sparrow. To book head over to the Odeon, Vue or Cineworld websites.

The popular annual event gives you an insight into what times were like in the age of rations and air raids.

Open between 10am and 5pm each day, there will be talks, real life explosions, military camps and music.
