"We can confirm that our giraffes will be arriving later this month," the post stated.

"We will confirm more details about the dates and where they've come from / who is arriving closer to the time.

"We're very excited to be receiving this species and it's the perfect time for you to get involved with the Kent Big Weekend and support your local attractions."

It is not yet known how many giraffes will have a new home at the park.

It is already home to many wild animals - including Kent's only penguins, moon bears and chimpanzees.

Wingham is giving away 100 pairs of tickets on April 4 and 5, for the Kent Big Weekend.

The two-day celebration of the county's tourism industry aims to encourage local residents to visit attractions close to home by giving away thousands of tickets to attractions across the county.

The facebook post added: "The Kent Big Weekend is at the start of April so will be shortly after the arrival of our giraffes - don't miss your chance to be amongst the first people to see them after they get here, especially as it's a chance to see them for free."
