Bluewater Shopping Centre Greenhithe opens Trapped Down South horror experience

by Angela Cole

Nerves of steel will be needed for a new fright experience coming to Kent, which will be open to teenagers and adults brave enough to take part.

Trapped Down South opens at the Greenhithe shopping centre on Friday, April 28.

It will require the daring, the fearless and the brave to enter the game, styled like a horror movie scene, to solve puzzles and clues in order to make it out alive and avoid being trapped.

Groups of six will need to work against the clock to complete their mission.

Due to the nature of the experience it is suitable for children aged 12 and over with parental discretion advised for anyone under the age of 15.

There are two gaming rooms to choose from: Jigsaw, and Cabin Fever.

In the Jigsaw room, players are locked away in a makeshift torture chamber within the sinister world of The Judge, a prolific serial killer who has escaped from prison. Famous for subjecting his victims to a grotesque ‘purity’ test known as the Jigsaw, there is one hour on the clock to solve the Jigsaw or be forced to face The Judge.

In Cabin Fever, a night of camping turns into a nightmare as a group of locals have kidnapped a member of the group – the one with the car keys. The only way to get home is embark on a terrifying journey through the savage’s cabin in the woods to find the captive friend.

The Bluewater experience is the latest panic room style game to open in Kent - following similiar attractions in Gravesend, Canterbury and at Fort Amherst in Medway.

Trapped Down South is a 4D gaming experience created by horror attraction experts House of the Dead.

Horror expert and director of House of the Dead Ltd Richard Cottier said: “I’m immensely proud of the achievements that I and the team made with House of the Dead and Trapped. Escape rooms have become incredibly popular in recent years, but we can promise an experience like no other.

"Trapped Down South is not for the fainthearted and we bring a wealth of experience in horror attractions to terrify anybody brave enough to take part”.

It will be open from Thursday to Sunday, with sessions lasting up to an hour.

Groups of four cost £65. For details visit houseofthedead.com
