What to do in Kent this weekend

The second bank holiday of the month is nearly upon us.

If you're on the lookout for things to do with the children there's plenty happening across the county.

Here are a few things you can get your teeth into this weekend:

CROWN JEWELS TRAIL, Rochester Castle

There's some regal activity on offer at the castle with a trail looking for the crowns of the King and Queen. Solve all the clues to win a small prize. Running until Sunday, June 3 from 10am and 6pm, head to the castle to get everything you need to take part or call 01634 718742 for details.

TIGER FESTIVAL, Tiger Moth, Chatham

The Tiger Moth in Highview Drive, Chatham, will be holding its Tiger Festival in aid of MacMillan on Saturday, May 26. The charity event between noon and 4pm will include activities for all the family, a face painter and ice creams. Staff are also leg waxing for the Little Princess Trust.

SPRING CRAFT FAIR, Badgers Hill Farm, Chilham

Badgers Hill Farm will hold its spring craft fair together with lots of animals on offer to meet and a playground for little ones. There will also be homemade food and cakes. Running between noon and 5pm on Sunday, May 27 you can find the farm at New Cut Road in Chilham near Canterbury.

BOMB DISPOSAL, Royal Engineers Museum, Gillingham

BOOM! Learn about the Royal Engineers' role disarming explosive devices with a trail at the Royal Engineers Museum in Prince Arthur Road, Gillingham, from Saturday, May 26 to Bank Holiday Monday, between 10am and 5pm. Entry is £8.80, five to 15s are £4.40.

MEDIEVAL WEEKEND, Lullingstone Castle

Lullingstone is set to be transformed into a magical medieval village. Step back in time to experience the authentic sights and sounds with 'living history' displays (including live firing of cannons and mock battles!), character dress, campfires, tents and medieval weapons, all courtesy of the remarkable Woodvilles medieval re-enactment group. ICE AGE EXHIBIT, Howletts Wild Animal Park

You’ll find the most fantastic prehistoric creatures in a woodland setting if you go down to the woodland this weekend. Once there you can learn incredible facts which will tell the story of the animal kingdom as it was, over 2.6 million years ago. THE BEAST, Betteshanger Park, Deal

The world’s largest inflatable obstacle course The Beast, will be returning to Betteshanger Park, near Deal, for the second time this weekend. The formidable inflatable obstacle course will be at the park from Saturday, May 26 to Monday, May 28. And it's facing a world first - a 384m long course which makes it over 100 metres longer and a length that has never before been attempted.
