Coronavirus Kent: Camp Bestival Easter Sleepover in place of Dreamland event adds Fatboy Slim and Dick and Dom to line-up

Dick and Dom, who were meant to be playing to thousands of families at Dreamland this weekend, have joined the star-studded line-up of a virtual party instead.

Family festival Camp Bestival was set to host an Easter Sunday takeover at the Margate attraction this weekend but the event had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Instead, organisers have substituted it with a Stay at Home Easter Sleepover - a virtual festival bringing a live stream of top acts and entertainment to living rooms across the nation.

Amongst the acts are Dick and Dom, who should have been headlining this weekend's event at the theme park, who will play a virtual game of 'Campsite Bogies'.

Also on the bill, which is being broadcast across Camp Bestival's You Tube, Facebook and Instagram platforms on Saturday and Sunday, is DJ Fatboy Slim and his daughter Nelly Cook who is playing her debut set, as well as music from Sara Cox and Level 42.

There will also be comedy for adults, virtual yoga and fitness events as well as workshops showing kids how to make an Easter bunny with Aardman Model Making, whilst Hollywood actress Kate Winslet will do a 'Camp Bestival Storytime Special' on Saturday evening at 6pm.

Camp Bestival's main three-day event, organised by DJ Rob da Bank, takes place at the end of July at Lulworth Castle in Dorset. But organisers have yet been able to confirm whether this year's event will be able to go ahead.

Those behind the interim Stay at Home Easter Sleepover say they hope to 'digitally connect friends and families across the globe with world class virtual entertainment' for the bank holiday weekend.

Camp Bestival curators Josie and Rob da Bank said: “We can’t all get outside right now, so we’re bringing you some of our favourite Camp Bestival acts for a Stay At Home Easter Sleepover. We both know what it’s like to be cooped up with our darling children for weeks with no break, so we hope we can take your mind off the news and dive into a world of fun, music and family vibes."
