Eddie Redmayne, Emily Watson and Dolly Parton to read a Cbeebies bedtime story this Christmas

Eddie Redmayne, actress Emily Watson and singer Dolly Parton will be among the Cbeebies Bedtime Story readers over Christmas.

Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne will settle down with If I Had a Dinosaur by Gabby Dawnay on Christmas Day, which is the story of a little girl who dreams of having a pet of her own.

Eddie, who scooped the Hollywood accolade in 2015 for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, said: “Books before bed were always such an essential part of my growing up and it’s so lovely to be able to continue the tradition. I hope you enjoy the stories and Happy Christmas.”

On Boxing Day, Emily Watson (Little Women and Angela's Ashes) will take a turn on the story seat with Lost For Words by author-illustrator, Natalie Russell. It follows poor Tapir who can't think of anything to write in his nice new notebook but soon finds a new way to express himself.

Emily says: “It was such a joy to be part of the CBeebies Bedtime Stories to bring these wonderful, imaginative books to life. I hope you enjoy the tales as much as I enjoyed reading them."
