Admission is £5 per person and the special admission price will be in place until it is safe to open the remainder of attractions at Groombridge. It follows an announcement this week by Leeds Castle which said it too would have a ticket offer for families looking to visit when it reopened.

Families coming to Groombridge in the next few weeks will be able to enjoy its countryside setting and walks along the canal path throughout the Enchanted Forest.

Picnics will also be allowed in the picnic fields, amongst the wildflowers and near to the neighbouring deer, but people are asked to bring their own seating or blankets.

Until government guidelines change or social distancing rules are relaxed further, the gardens and children's play areas will not be open. The giant swings, nest swings, maze and Treetop Walkway are also closed and the canal boat will not be operating.

But there will be birds of prey displays for visitors to enjoy - with two shows ever day at noon and 3.30pm.

The toilets at Crusoe's World will be open as will the kiosk selling hot and cold drinks, ice creams and a small selection of snacks, cakes and sandwiches.

Families keen to make use of the £5 ticket offer for a change of scene and a day outside in different surroundings will be able to pre-book with staggered entry times to ensure everyone's safety whilst entering.

Anyone arriving without a pre-booked ticket will be directed to an area where they will need to purchase tickets using their own mobile phone before entering.

Due to social distancing guidelines only a limited number of tickets will be allocated each day.

Groombridge Place will open between 10am and 4pm with gates closed at 5pm.
