Kent snow forecast and school closures
Thousands of pupils are off school again today as the county's cold snap continues to bite.
Children across Kent found themselves with a 'snow day' on Tuesday as the so-called Beast From The East arrived.
And fresh snowfall overnight into Wednesday has brought fresh closure announcements with a large number of schools closing for a second day.
Heavy snowfall and plummeting temperatures, said some schools, made sites difficult to open, conditions treacherous and journeys too difficult for pupils and staff.
And by late on Tuesday evening many had already made that decision to keep their doors closed on Wednesday morning and pupils at home.
The heavy snowfall is also bringing with it problems elsewhere in the county.
As of 6am on Wednesday, Arriva said it was also not able to run buses in Gravesend, Dartford, Medway or Sheerness.
Commuters were also bracing themselves for a second day of problems on the motorways while Southeastern had been forced to cancel 13 rush hour services on Wednesday morning.
